Details
Our range of corrugated galvanised steel tanks are incredibly strong and designed to last for years. Our extensive tank range provides capacities from 9,000 litres all the way up to 1,000,000 litres and each tank is available with optional liners and covers to suit almost all applications.
All tanks are approved to BS5950 and BS EN 1993 and powder coated with durable lead-free paint. All tanks have a minimum safety margin of 40% - this means that the structure can hold a minimum of 40% more water than the actual volume of the tank.
Popular applications for this range of tanks include:
- Rainwater harvesting
- Dust suppression
- Fire water
- Horticulture
- Agriculture
- Humanitarian aid
- Aquaculture
- Golf courses and leisure sector
Optional Extras and Accessories
Tank Liners
Each tank is supplied as standard with a 1.00mm Greenseal EPDM tank liner which offers a strong and more cost-efficient alternative to a Butyl rubber tank liner. EPDM is a flexible robust material that offers excellent cut through, abrasion and UV resistance.
Advantages of EPDM tank liners
- Completely UV and Ozone resistant
- Brittle point -40°C
- Does not harden and crack when continually flexed
- Flexibility makes this product very quick and easy to install
- Totally inert, no problems with leaching of plasticizers as suffered from PVC
- Can easily be repaired with a repair patch
The optional upgraded Butyl liner is heavier and more expensive than other liners, however they last for at least a decade so pay for themselves. The Butyl liners offer excellent resistance to high temperature variations, abrasion and UV light.
- Excellent UV and ozone resistance
- Brittle point -30°C
- Does not harden and crack when continually flexed
- Flexibility makes this product very quick and easy to install
- Totally inert with no leaching of plasticizers
- Easily repairable
Tank Covers
Three types of cover are available and the right one will depend on your budget and application. All covers are designed specifically for these tanks and are strong, fit beautifully and easy to install.
Anti-Algae cover
The woven Anti-Algae cover is designed to cover and overlap the top edge of the tank and offers excellent UV protection preventing Algae growth, prevents wind-borne debris from entering the tank and allows rainwater to permeate through. The cover includes a ball valve flap which allows access for the supply as well as access for sampling the water
Advantages of an Anti-Algae cover
- Easy to install
- Very strong
- Prevents Algae growth
- Prevents wind-borne debris entering the tank
PVC cover
The heavy duty reinforced PVC cover is draped over a central support structure and this is held in position and tensioned throughout using adjustable polypropylene guy ropes attached to galvanised eye nuts on the tank.
The PVC cover prevents Algae growth and wind-borne debris and rainwater entering the tank.
Advantages of a PVC cover
- Easy to install
- Very strong
- Prevents Algae growth
- Prevents wind-borne debris and rainwater entering the tank
Galvanised Steel cover
The galvanised steel cover option is available on all tank sizes up to 14.63 metres (48 ft) diameter and is powder coated in the same colour as the tank. It is supplied with securing straps, central pole, two access hatches and a ball valve bracket. The steel cover uses a central hub connected by a purlin structure, making it extremely strong.
The steel cover prevents Algae growth and wind-borne debris and rainwater entering the tank and it also stops evaporation.
It has also been designed to withstand UK wind and snow loadings and to look aesthetically pleasing.
Advantages of a galvanised steel cover
- Easy to install
- Very strong
- Very secure – access hatches are bolted down
- Prevents Algae growth
- Prevents wind-borne debris and rainwater entering the tank
Tank Enclosures
The optional pipe feed enclosures are designed for being fixed vertically to the side of the tank to enclose pipe work entering the tank via a roof or cover. Pipes can also be lagged to inside the enclosures to provide protection against frost. The enclosure can accommodate up to 2x 63mm pipework pieces.
The tank enclosure also keeps pipework secure from tampering by keeping it fully enclosed.
Outlets
The tank can be supplied with no outlet or a choice of 2, 3 or 4 inch steel outlet as standard, however outlets up to 12 inches are available upon request.
Gate Valves
The optional brass bodied gate valves are used in conjunction with the 2-4 inch outlets and are BSP threaded and ideal for isolated outlets.
Ladder, Platform and Handrail
A specifically designed ladder kit for access and inspection to the top of the tank is available as an optional extra. The ladder kit is connected to the outside wall of the tank and with safety in mind is supplied with a platform and handrail. The ladder kit is made from galvanised steel and aluminium and can be fitted to any of the galvanised steel tanks that have a galvanised steel roof.
Please Note: Ladders are only to be used in conjunction with a galvanised steel roof.
Tank Placement
It is highly recommended that the steel water tanks are sited on a concrete base and the concrete should be a minimum of 100mm thickness and the type used should be type C35 300kg/m³.
C35 is a very strong concrete mix that is recommended for use on industrial floors, reinforced foundations, pilings and underpinnings.
Please see the table below for recommended base requirements.
