Our range of Slurry and Manure tanks are designed specifically to comply with the Nitrate Pollution Prevention Regulations which have been enforced since 2009. It is these regulations that have been used to implement the Nitrates directive. The European commission nitrates directive requires that areas of land that drain into waters polluted by nitrates are to be designated as Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZ’s).
Nitrate Vulnerable Zones currently cover approximately 62% of England. This means that farmers with land in these NVZ’s have to follow a set of rules designed to tackle the loss of nitrate from agriculture. The regulations are assessed and enforced by the UK environmental agency.
The slurry tanks are manufactured from corrugated, galvanised steel and are powder coated in green. The steel used in the tanks construction is approved to BS2989:1982 regulations and is galvanised with lead free zinc to 275g/m² to EN10142 regulations. The steel panels are powder coated on both sides to ensure excellent corrosion resistance.
Our slurry tank kits include:
• Corrugated, galvanised, curved steel panels with punched bolt holes (powder coated in green)
• A tailored liner manufactured from EPDM material
• 12mm (1/2”) PVC capping to cover the top edge of the tank
• 25mm (1”) PVC capping to trap the overlap of the liner over the top of the 12mm capping
• 25mm (1”) spring clips to hold the capping in place
• M12 Bolts, nuts and washers
• Holding down brackets and fixing bolts
The advantages of the corrugated steel tanks are:

• Able to hold much larger quantities than polyethylene tanks
• Easy to install with a photographic instruction manual supplied with each tank

The slurry tanks are supplied with a 1mm thick EPDM liner. This material is very strong and hard wearing and offers excellent cut through, abrasion and UV resistance. The liner is secured to the tank using a bespoke capping system that ensures the tank contents are not in direct contact with the steel tank panels.

The slurry tanks can be placed on a 100cm wide ring beam with the internal area void of the concrete ring being filled with compacted hardcore and sand. What this means is that the civil engineering costs are lower than those of a liner less slurry tank.
Important delivery information
Please note the tanks are delivered using a 40ft articulated lorry and the receiving customer is responsible for the safe offloading of the tank from the delivery vehicle. The tanks are delivered on pallets, therefore a fork lift truck or similar is required.
If for any reason, delivery on an articulated lorry is not possible, please make us aware of this so that alternate arrangements can be made. Please note additional charges may apply.
